Description
The College Board, a national educational organization, conducting a search for an entry level Software Engineer I in its Reston, Virginia Office. The Software Engineer will assist with application development and maintenance, as well as perform a wide range of software development related tasks, under the supervision of senior staff.
Responsibilities may include:
* Designing, programming, testing and maintaining software for College Board applications
* Developing, creating and maintaining documents related to software development artifacts
* Providing technical assistance in key software development and system implementation technologies
* Developing experience and expertise in problem definition, requirements analysis and general design of systems
* Providing technical support to third parties regarding the use, understanding, design, and implementation of College Board products
Skills Required:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field, plus 1 - 3 years progressively responsible, directly related experience
* Strong knowledge of programming languages, relational database management systems, networking technology, multiple desk operating systems, and multiple server operating systems
* Software development skills including knowledge of PowerBuilder and JAVA
* Understanding of modern software engineering principles and practices
* Strong problem solving and analytic skills
